I just finished a teleconference on #COVID19Utah with #UtahMedicalAssociation #UofUHealth #IntermountainHealthCare #StewardHealth #HCA and @SpencerJCox This was a very positive meeting. Our local, state and hospital leadership are working well together.
I am pleased to hear testing is sufficient and improving. Testing in Utah per capita is 4th or 5th in the country. We have a 5% positive test rate and 8% of #COVID19 patients require hospitalization. We have beds available, PPE available, ventilators available, ECMO available.
We have overflow hospitals on standby. Contact tracing is improving. We are still in the acceleration phase in Utah. The worst is yet to come. Unexpected changes can occur and we will adapt where required, but Utah seems well prepared.
We as a state are not perfect and continue to learn as we go. Please continue to physically distance, wash hands, stay home and treat others with love. Pray and fast if you feel it appropriate. We will get through this.
