let’s start with our wonderful leader, shownu. i personally adore his voice. his tone is so well seasoned and his use of mix is just seamless. like many have said, he has a voice reminiscent of american pop. his soulful voice just melts your heart~

next is our adored bunny. once again, messing around but his pitch is perfect and so soft it amazes me. some criticize his nasaly voice but i think it provides dynamics in the songs, especially his lil lisp

this man’s voice can also pack a punch. he deserves more credit for a majority of the belts he does to intensify their songs. he uses that ‘belly ache’ voice to add extra angst and height to their music, and it fits perfectly

moving on to minnie, aka our sunshine boy. his voice is just pure honey and resembles his innocence so well. he is also slightly nasaly like wonho, but i think that he pulls it off really well. his sweet tone is perfect over acoustic ballads my GOSH

look, he even took the pitch up and still sounds heavenly. his upper/nasal resonance gives him that adorable angel voice while still allowing him to project (also stream is covers!!)

this man... it goes without saying that the role of main vocal requires intense training. he has always been a perfectionist and critiquing his own voice, which can be sad, but the integrity is reflected in his vocals. his voice is so thin and effortless

i’m still not over his hyeya cover. his voice has evolved so much throughout the years, and there is hardly ever an ounce of strain in his voice. this allows for emotions to come through. (this clip is mandatory)

next is sweet hyungwon. okay, i’m going to get preachy here. hyungwon. has. such. a. good. voice!! he would destroy the U.S. pop charts. the mix of breathyness and laidback vocal chord position makes his singing so damn buttery smooth

his voice sounds best in his lower register and man, when he uses it, there’s something so sensual to it. i’m so glad he’s getting more lines enjoy some falsetto wonnie:

it’s joohoneyyy time main rapper? hmmm but he can also sing? but like, not sing, SANG. he has this really unique metallic timbre in his voice and i’m always blown away when he hits a flawless high note. his voice is so versatile and deserves lead vocal

and last but CERTAINLY NOT least, is our baby changkyun (I.M). i have so much respect for him. i think he has next level artistry that many don’t even notice. he may be a rapper, but i’ve seen the rapid growth of his singing voice and it’s so warm

don’t underestimate this talented man. i think he’d also do well in the american music industry because his voice is so ‘sleepy’ and rich. also tag yourself, i’m minhyuk being shook

anywho, i made this thread because i love them (obviously) and i thought it was necessary to actually pick apart what makes each of the member’s voice special. i think sometimes people categorize what a “good” voice is into a very small mold. these boys are talented and it shows
