Reminiscing and realising the depth of my online friendships and online life before I became social in my teenage years, and before the internet became an IRL ppl thing. The amount of deep and true friendships I had back then, all via forums and MSN messenger / AIM.
We all change as we get older, esp. as a teenager, but I still think I could have done a better job keeping in touch with ppl. To be fair, I was growing up and becoming outgoing for the first time ever, but I wonder if it seemed like I abandoned those ppl who I grew with online
Those friendships informed who I would eventually become so much, and lit fires in me that still drive me to this day. I& #39;m so grateful to have experienced that time in the internet& #39;s history and to have made so many great connection. I just fear I have already forgotten so many
For a time, all of my best friends were via the internet, and they really carried me through and pushed me during many years of my life. And it was all based on passions and shared interests. Really helped me to enjoy and pursue things that none of my peers were. Solidarity.
I& #39;m sure this kind of stuff still happens online of course. But it& #39;s definitely a changed landscape now.

Shout out to my forum friends, http://TechDeck.com"> http://TechDeck.com , http://BeastieBoys.com"> http://BeastieBoys.com , Linkin Park/Fort Minor/Styles of Beyond friends, http://Breakdancing.com/bboy.org ,">https://Breakdancing.com/bboy.org&... Myspace!
Oh and I can& #39;t forget my Bomfunk MC& #39;s forum friends! Oh if only I could remember the right kinds of details to look up some of these people...
I can kind of feel this energy a bit on certain Discord groups. But I miss fansites! And fan communities - building their own platforms and & #39;worlds& #39;. With Facebook groups and subreddits (things built on larger platforms), it& #39;s all part of that larger whole...
