Is there any political activity that mainstream Americanist political scientists think is rational/normatively good/justified?
Because as best I can tell political activity in the minds of main stream Americanist political scientists is divided into two categories:

1) stuff for which you have a model that says it's worthless
2) stuff you sneer at for not being appropriate
With the word "appropriate" doing a lot of classed/raced/gendered work. Good political activity stopped with the March on Washington (and likely your peers at the time thought that was bad)
Sometimes I think about how my career would go if I went over to post-revolutionary Tunisia and talked to people there like Americanists talk to...everybody...here.
Party ID drives behavior, parents give you party ID, nothing really changes it/you, party drives everything, voting is useless, protesting is more so.

Cool Cool Cool.
