When Dr. Peter Phillips would& #39;ve got his diagnosis the first thing that probably flashed before his eyes would have been his own mortality. As Jamaicans would put it - his life flashed before his eyes. That must have been a nerve wracking moment for him.
Politics is a blood sport. Not for the faint of heart. But some things must be off limit. And a person& #39;s personal health must be one such thing, no matter which side of the political aisle one sits. We now have a confirmation as to the health challenges Dr. Phillips now faces.
We have to sympathize and empathize with him, and afford him and his family some privacy, notwithstanding the public office he holds and the higher public office he& #39;s seeking to occupy.
Sickness can affect anyone, at anytime. This is not about decency. This is about humanity and compassion. Let us display that we can be thoughtful, kind and respectful to Dr. Phillips in this time.
And I want to use this opportunity to appeal to my fellow Labourites especially; this issue is not one to use to gain political mileage. Because simply put, there really is no mileage to gain out of this.
I wish Dr. Phillips a full and speedy recovery. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="🙏🏽" title="Folded hands (medium skin tone)" aria-label="Emoji: Folded hands (medium skin tone)">
