Hey Parents!
Reading Linda's awesome tweet reminded me of something I've been meaning to post.
It dawned on me yesterday that there are probably a lot of parents who have behavior plans for their kiddos, but due to #COVID19, have just lost support staff and feel lost.

You might even feel a little panicked.
And I know new challenges are probably springing up.
I understand, and I might be able to help, whether your child has a disability or not, whether they are toddlers OR ADULTS w disabilities.
This is a wee bit long but keep reading. Do it

I'm no stranger to behavior plans. I've written more than I can remember. I've been doing behavior therapy for over 15 yrs.
I have a degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Northwestern University.
I have a Master degree in behavior therapy.
And I'm culturally competent.

And here's the thing that occurred to me yesterday, your therapists/support may have abandoned you bc social distancing and they often dont believe in this field that there's anything they can do if they can't do it the optimal way.
I disagree to an extent.
I disagree to an extent.
My thesis was on the effectiveness of a parent support method VIA DISTANCE SUPPORT USING TECHNOLOGY on child behavior.
Optimal and in-home is preferable, but I dont automatically write off that there's nothing that can be done to support my families if optimal isnt an option.

SO, here's the skinny minnies:
If you're like, Dang, I could use a little support w what Ive got going on w my loves, I dont mind doing a distance consult w you, looking over your behavior plan, seeing if I can help.
No matter where you are in the world.
Holla at me.

I know a lot of folks have just lost their jobs, your household expenses have increased; it's tough #COVID19 times.
SO, PAY ME WHAT U CAN. If ya ain't got, no worries. If I can help, I dont mind trying. I dont want children going without what they need & parents without support

Last thing:
I don't know how many ppl will respond to this thread. Maybe no one. Maybe 5 folks. Maybe 200.
I've been going through a really difficult time fighting for my own babies' lives (see pinned tweet), so I WILL DO MY BEST TO RESPOND BUT IM GOING TO NEED YOUR PATIENCE.

Other than that, comment if you want to talk further, and we'll take it from there.
