Media-driven anti-China hysteria is not about Covid-19, nor about racism, nor even really about anti-communism. It is ultimately, like most things, about power. The US empire wants global hegemony and the rising China doesn't want to give it to them, so a confrontation is coming.

Yes, and the US empire had the option to simply form a friendly relationship with China; many corporate interests with Chinese ties have been pushing for this. They are USING racism to advance anti-China hysteria, in the same way they are using the virus and humanitarian concerns toward the same end.
