I check in with my undergraduate students every 3-4 days about their broader situation, life pressures re #COVID19, health (physical & mental), etc. One just said this as part of a broader commentary about how things are going: 1/
“As for how I& #39;m doing, I am realizing that online classes mean more work rather than less. Feeling slightly hoodwinked by that reality.” This is a major problem associated with the ‘online pivot’ & it’s something departments & universities (more broadly) need to address ASAP. 2/
We were coincidentally sent these resources this afternoon - great to see!

Keep it in mind that this student is one of my many undergrads this term who is super/organized, diligent, & on-the ball. If s/he is feeling “hoodwinked” how are all of our students feeling? Time to adjust, refocus, reach out, & close off the term in a wise & empathetic way. 4/4
