This is a thread comparing the "declaration of love" scenes at the end of Louis Malle's 1978 film Pretty Baby and Danny DeVito's 1996 film Matilda.

The thread gives some ideas on why the scenes are similar and different, using context, but also using some "storyboards" I drew.

I would like to say up front -- I was inspired to draw "storyboards" for this thread by an 11-year-old Japanese boy, Hiroto, who recently won a contest and had his storyboards turned into an MV for the J-Pop group Perfume's song "Challenger."
