A very quick thread about the modelling released yesterday. First: this, from @farrm51, seems exactly right.

and it's definitely not the case that all experts think this is what they were asking for. e.g. https://twitter.com/MicrobialLife/status/1247402167738060801?s=20
and it's worth noting the Academy of Science, which has been calling for the release, didn't praise what happened yesterday; rather, they expressed hope there would be more modelling released.

and then in the newspaper we see this today, which mocks the PM's insistence that what the government has we have too https://www.theaustralian.com.au/nation/coronavirus-plan-to-let-covid19-infect-us-slowly/news-story/7a459ae042dfe3316ba42055dc4e5b99
that comes via @LRussellWolpe, who is a public health policy expert https://twitter.com/LRussellWolpe/status/1247639486252453888?s=20
in other words, the push for more transparency should really start here, not end here. The modelling released yesterday was something, not nothing. But also, it was very largely a PR strategy, and not about transparency.
