Doctor friend out at Brooklyn hospital inundated with covid-19 patients in the past 2 weeks just texted me first piece of good news he’s been able to share:

“Seeing the first wave of patients get taken off the ventilators”

To be clear: he then rattled off a lot of very scary stats about intubations and deaths, and the unpredictable way this disease is acting, and said “we are nowhere near close to out of the woods”

But some people are going home from his ICU. Thank God.
