I honestly could write a book on my exploits trying to obtain home gym equipment since all the gyms we're closed in the UK over 2 weeks ago. It's a story that's taken me from Manchester to Thailand & has brought me in contact with some of the best & worst companies in the country

So far I've managed to workout using the few weights that have been delivered cobbled together with an old metal chair leg i found in the loft as a makeshift dumbbell bar and that's it.

Joy of all joys actual real life dumbbell bars are due to arrive tomorrow. But i will put the festivities on hold until they are in my hands and i can see them with my own eyes. I've been hurt before too many times by the delivery gods.

The weights set i ordered the day after the gyms closed never arrived. The seller UK Sport Imports aka RCD Retail Ltd pretended to ship the order but then over a week later finally admitted they never sent it because they didn't have the stock & a few days after that refunded me.

By this time everywhere online was pretty much out of stock of everything i needed. So i've been spending countless hours googling and experiencing false dawns adding things to my basket on sites only to be told the minimum order is £1000 or they are actually closed etc. etc.

I even started to look further afield. Going into Europe & eventually all the way to Thailand. Each time facing some sort of roadblock. Such as needing an id number to order in Sweden to finding everything i needed in Thailand only to be told they have suspended UK deliveries.

But i persevered like a dog aimlessly humping it's owners leg & my luck started to change. I found dumbbell bars & some more weights here & there. A barbell bar & a curl bar. Some other weights. Currently i have 5 orders outstanding all due to arrive on various dates this month.

We're not out of the woods yet though dear reader. Not by a long chalk. In fact i've started to wonder if gyms will be open again by the time everything arrives.

The weights bench i ordered was updated to delivered on the online tracking today despite nobody coming to my address all day. So i'm now embroiled in yet another saga of did the seller send it or are the delivery company even real. We shall see when/if they respond to my emails.
