So I was thinking about a conversation I and @SophiaAfolayan1 had days ago about a woman's comment on the misogyny in the music production industry here and the woman was right, she sounded crazy but she was right. There are only 2 female music producers in Nigeria..... Thread
DJ Toxiq and Dunnie, and this women are close to unknown, if a battle was to take place amongst women they'll probably just be jamming their own songs amd a few others but hardly any classics or not even one because men have alwsys been giving the work to each other...
.....sharing tbat bread only with their gender, just like deejaying, a female music producer is hardly ever given the recognition or respect she deserves except she's tied to a man in the beginning or to money, examples are Dj Lambo and Dj Cuppy, Lambo is president tho, A big W
But Cuppy, just got into the Forbes 30 under 30 list and people think it's because of her parent's money, no one knows how sis has been grinding for 6 years in this same industry under sneers and discrimination, she did not just come up....
And talented women are not given the platform to show what they can do. Simi once said people gave her funny looms whenever she said she is a sound engineer and producer but we all know she did a great ass job on Adekunle Gold's music Misogyny has always been and will still be..
....as there are no changes in sight in the music industry. An industry where woman are told to stay in their places and the radicals choked, it'll be more than ridiculous to say there should be battles between female producers.
Hell how many do you even know?.
