thinkin about Glitter again,
with the few times i've worked with it in life there's always like up to a week where it'll show up in my clothes, on my hands, on my FACE, and the question is always "i SWORE i got rid of all of it" and i want that same emotion but like, Horny,

the glitter the fairy gave you is definitely way shinier than any you'd get at the hobby store, but they /did/ warn you not to spill it, which is why you spent a half hour scrubbing it off your arm when you inevitably did spill it.
you were pretty sure you got rid of all of it, but you threw on an extra fifteen minutes just to be sure. it's just glitter, right? how bad can it be?
the next morning you wake up and there's a few flecks on your forearm where you spilled it yesterday. this time though, it
the next morning you wake up and there's a few flecks on your forearm where you spilled it yesterday. this time though, it
doesn't wash off. worse yet, when you rinse off the suds you notice it's on your hands. both of them. you were wearing gloves when you used it yesterday do you KNOW you didn't spill it on there...
but y'know, it's plastic flecks, it might have a tendency to get unstuck, so it's
but y'know, it's plastic flecks, it might have a tendency to get unstuck, so it's
probably a non-issue. you do make an effort to wash all your clothes and bedsheets just to be sure there's none in there that might show up later.

the next morning you check yourself in the mirror, and you swear your eyes were... shinier than usual. they just had this new way of
glinting in the light that you hadn't noticed before. it was actually kinda nice- dazzling, even. your nails, too! they looked like they had some kind of glossy overcoat, despite you not adding any, which is a bit... concerning. you spend a second checking yourself in the mirror
and notice even your... tongue? really? was shinier than usual, catching the light in a way that was definitely not family friendly.
you decide this is enough, and resolve to come clean to your fairy friend about the whole debacle.

you got the usual scolding about unstable magical artifacts, and they hand to you a bottle of soap that's supposed to wash off the residual magic. they mention that it'll take three days to clean it all away, and it just clears the cause of the changes. whatever changes occur
between exposure and getting clean- you're stuck with them.
under the circumstances, having some speckled hands and glittery eyes looked like a bonus, but evidently that wasn't the end.

you wake up the next day and after your shower with the soap, you find that the speckles of
glitter have spread up your arms and onto your chest. your eyes are changing a bit, too. what was once just a new sheen now had extra bits of shine floating in it, like your eyes were just a pair of snow globes.
the topcoat on your nails evolved into a glitter coat,

as expected, but your tongue has skipped past being speckled in glitter and has instead become a uniform, reflective silver.

become silvery and reflective.
you have... freckles? they're not quite normal. they're about the size and shape you'd expect, but instead of being a bit darker in color they're perfectly reflective and bright.

your eyes are silver now. it's not even a surprise. when you look
around the colors of your irises swirl and you see even more bits of glitter spinning around in there. they're actually kinda captivating, which almost distracts you from your nails, which are also silver and, even more strange, also seem to be filled with a glittery liquid.
as you lay in bed that night you spend some time just moving your fingers around, watching the illusion of liquid swirl inside your fingernails.
the next morning you take your shower, and for the first time see little silver specks of glitter get washed down into the drain.

you hope fish aren't susceptible to what you're going through, and go check the mirror to see what you're working with.
your eyes catch your attention first. now there's no distinction between iris, pupil, and sclera. it's all just swirling silver fluid. it doesn't even move

when you move your eyes, you have to tilt your entire head to agitate the fluid inside.
your hair is next, having turned completely silver to match your eyes and- not just nails, but entire hands. it's easier to think of them as a pair of hand-shaped bottles, each containing

a beautiful, swirling liquid that shimmers and swirls beneath your... skin? you're not sure at this point.
your skin is practically covered in specks of glitter. from your wrists up it's a bit of a gradient, going from complete coverage to about 50-50. your new freckles have

appeared on your arms and thighs, too. not that you can really pick them out.
you take a breath and then open your mouth. sitting inside is a bizarre sight. your tongue hasn't changed much, but what used to be clear saliva has now been replaced with a viscous, silvery substance

that's very similar to the kind swirling around in your eyes and hands. it drips and oozes inside your mouth, making it hard to pick out your tongue in the mess, but it doesn't seem to hinder your speech, of which has also managed to take on a sort of bell-like tone to it.
you sigh. all this for a bottle of fancy glitter.
you take a moment to decide how to go forwards. on one hand you're probably never going to look 100% human again. on the other, you think you actually look pretty good like this. in fact, if you had to put in a word, you'd say

that your new look is *dazzling*, and everyone's gonna know it.
