I can’t tell you why, but I have been dreaming of a Todd Haynes biopic of Pete Rose ever since I watched DARK WATERS. If Mark Ruffalo wants to play Pete Rose, so be it. (Ruly Carpenter, heir to DuPont fortune, owned the Phillies & played a big role in getting him from the Reds.)

Plus, Haynes seems to love Ohio. It's perfect for him.

I will, of course, volunteer to write this Charlie Hustle biopic as a public service and promise to include a scene of Rose stiffing a server at an airport Chili's Too, because that actually happened.
