This is a thread for everyone on here who has some interest in following baseball and becoming a fan of the sport.
Just some advice from my part. I'm no expert (I'll point you to some people who are) but I feel like I can give y'all a good starting point.

Just some advice from my part. I'm no expert (I'll point you to some people who are) but I feel like I can give y'all a good starting point.
Thread starts here:
1. Pick a team.
This is a must. The baseball season is 162 games long. If you can't pick a team, you won't make it.
I also suggest picking a well run team for your sanity's sake, but if you wanna support the local team or the team with fire uniforms, go ahead.

2. Get into the right mindset while watching games.
You can't watch regular season baseball for 3 hours straight without taking ya eyes off the screen.
Keep it on in the background while you do sumn else and pay attention in key spots.
Playoff baseball is different.

3. Read up on some terminology and stats so you can understand baseball speech on the fly.
Pretty self explanatory. Baseball broadcasts use a ton of specific terminology. Getting used to it is key in keeping up.

4. Start off by watching condensed games and even highlights if you need it.
I recommend watching past postseasons for that. Some YouTube channels have great, extended compilations, but MLB's channel is usually enough to start off.

5. Follow baseball content creators and reporters.
Some recommendations would be:
@PitchingNinja
@FoolishBB (also his YT channel)
@MLBRandomStats
@Jomboy_ (also his YT channel)
@MLBStats
@JeffPassan

6. Follow @0ender1 and check out his pinned tweet.
Just do. He knows way more about baseball than I do.

7. Be consistent.
One of the best things about baseball is it happens daily from the end of February to the end of October.
Your team will play almost every day. You don't need to watch every game (fuck all that) but checking results consistently is a plus.

8. Last but not least:
Understand what makes baseball unique. Baseball has no time limit. There is no clock. There is 27 outs.
That's what makes it special, but it also requires you to have a bit different of a viewer profile.
If you have a small attention span, you wont fw it

8. (continuing):
Basketball allows for small attention spans. The games are short, the pace is really quick. So does football, bc it can be enjoyed even if you don't truly understand everything. Hockey is a mixed bag.
Baseball is very different to basketball. Keep that in mind.

9. Enjoy yourself.
If you get through these steps, you'll likely become more and more of a fan as time goes on. Baseball is a really easy sport to be nerd about.
Hopefully you picked a good team that won't cause you heart diseases (unlike me).
Play and watch ball.
