Thread: Why Christina Aguilera is the reincarnation of Mae West
Christina Aguilera. Mae West. Both women have way too much in common not to consider the possibility that Christina is her reincarnation. The dates work out well too. Mae West died on November 22, 1980. Christina Aguilera was born just a month later on December 18, 1980.
Both women are sex symbols whose morals were questioned more than once. Christina even covered Mae West's song 'A Guy What Takes His Time' for her movie Burlesque. Mae's version below recorded in 1933.

Both women got their career started at about the age of 5. Mae West (Born on August 17, 1893 in Brooklyn) was 5 when she first entertained a crowd at a church social. She began performing professionally in vaudeville in the Hal Clarendon Stock Company in 1907 at the age of 14.
Christina started singing professionally in local contests at a very young age. She also started performing on TV on the Mickey Mouse Club in 1992.
Both women were very ahead of their time in terms of supporting gay rights. In puritanical 1920s America, Mae West wrote the play “The Drag". which was considered outrageous and morally offensive. “The Drag” was inspired by her many gay friends’ struggles to be accepted for who
they are. She sought out gay actors which that was totally taboo at a time when the actor’s union forbid gays from performing speaking roles on Broadway. Her casting calls were at a gay Greenwich Village bar & years later she spoke with pride about having helped gays on Broadway.
Christina released a controversial music video for her single 'Beautiful' in 2002 which features a gay couple kissing and a transgender woman. It was a very controversial video at the time but Christina insisted on supporting their inclusion.
Both women were criticized for their nonconventional singing techniques and supposedly 'screaming'! Mae West singing in (1935)

Both women were feminists who turned the tables around! In 1935, Mae West was the highest paid woman and the second-highest paid person in the United States (after William Randolph Hearst). In 2011, Christina became the highest paid judge in a singing competition against 3 men.
Both women were faced with censorship. In the 1940s, the studio had orders to clean up Mae West's famous double entendres. The Heat's On opened to poor reviews and weak performance at the box office. West was so distraught after the experience, and by her years of struggling with
the strict Hays censorship office, she stopped making movies for decades and pursued a successful career in Las Vegas nightclubs, where she was welcomed to be herself. Mae West performing in Vegas in 1957.
Christina Aguilera was also criticized for being too sexual with her Bionic album in 2010 & left The Voice after a few years because the producers were silencing her. She also pursued a successful residency in Las Vegas. Christina performing Sick of Sittin' in Vegas in 2018
Both women are sex symbols who have always looked way younger than their age. Mae West was 86 years old in this clip from her movie Sextette (1978) (She was born in 1893, it was her last movie before she died in 1980). She didn't look a day over 40.
Christina is turning 40 this year and still looks like her Reflections day while singing her new Mulan song 'Loyal Brave and True' last month! Both ageless queens!
