When I was younger, I was absolutely convinced that the K1 robot and K9 were connected in a progression of Thunderbirds-y robot models, and it was a crushing disappointment to learn they had nothing to do with each other.
Today, I'm rewatching Robot and reliving that tragedy.

K2 should be a giant robot mountain, obviously.
The choice to keep UNIT around for the post-regeneration story pays off immediately. You get a nice balance of newer leads being confused by the process with the Brigadier and Benton being totally done with this shit.
I love watching those dinky robot hands grab a file labeled TOP SECRET. It's such a camp mess, how could you not?

I don't think I ever registered just how fluid the camera work and editing in this serial is. It feels very, very energetic and stylish.
It's a very Pertwee story, at its bones, but the slick production, shorter length, and change in lead give it a nice zip.

I love the feminist beat between Sarah Jane and Hilda Winters, where Hilda corrects her gendered assumption of who the director is. It's one of the only times we meaningfully get a beat about Sarah's feminism in the classic series, really.
Shame Winters turns out the baddie.

I'm tempted to just turn this thread into quoting the bits everyone always quotes. They're fun, and Tom Baker is hilarious here.
There's not much else going on, it's a very efficient, surface pleasure, but it's a good time.
