1.I’ve been meaning to write this but I lacked the English so ngicela ningixolele mangibheda.

As a society do we not think that the lack of sex education especially from parents, is somewhat an enabler for abuse because perpetrators know that kids cannot approach their parents.
2. I think that sex, especially in black homes (I speak of it from my experience) is really a conversation swept under the carpet, and this then becomes difficult for children to speak up because they don’t even know how to articulate their experience to elders...
3. I for one am 23, the only conversation I’ve ever had was to stay away from boys orelse ngizomitha and that’s it... I don’t recall a “If such a thing happens to you without your consent, speak to us...” no one tells us what to do when you’re IN a situation beyond your control.
4. You’re always just told to avoid it, as if you have some miraculous power to do so...

Just a few thoughts I’ve had, again I say, I might’ve lacked the English, ningixolele.
But parents, why is it so hard?
