THE AVOIDABLE MISTAKES YOU& #39;VE BEEN MAKING IN YOUR JOB SEARCH.

So you& #39;ve been searching for a job for a while now and you& #39;ve sent out tons of applications, you& #39;ve sent out your CV countless times, but, you still haven& #39;t been invited for an interview?!
I know why. It& #39;s a thread
This thread is truthful, it holds back nothing, so it may hurt you a little, but he rest assured that when you follow what I& #39;m about to share with you, your job search will not remain the same again.
The mistakes shared here are visible, you stare at it every time you apply for a job, but, you don& #39;t see it because of these reasons;

1. You& #39;re not serious.
If you& #39;re not serious with your job search, you won& #39;t see the mistakes in your job application process
2. You& #39;re nervous.
This is a thing. You& #39;re not noticing the mistakes in your application process because you& #39;re nervous when you apply for jobs online, so you rush the entire thing and end up making loads of mistakes.
I understand, it could be the frustration.
Now, what are those mistakes you& #39;ve been making;

1. Your CV title.
You& #39;re not getting called for interview because, when you send your CV to the recruiter, you give it a meaningless title. A meaningless title like; "My CV"
Yes, it& #39;s "your CV" but, you& #39;re not supposed to title it "My CV".
Think about it, the recruiter recruiter has tons of CVs to check, do you seriously think the recruiter will check a CV titled "My CV" ? Huh ? Do you seriously think so ?
Here& #39;s what to do:
The title of your CV should be your name.
Something like this;
Adekunle_Hassan_CV
If you& #39;re asked to include cover letter too, it should be;
Adekunle_Hassan_Cover letter.
Note this now and never forget it, because if you keep sending out your CV with the title "My CV" like @SheunAdeola says; "you& #39;re not a serious person"
Another mistake you& #39;ve been making is this;
2. A terrible CV.
Even if you& #39;ve titled your CV properly, if it& #39;s terribly written, you won& #39;t get called for that interview!

I know the question you& #39;re about to ask, what makes a CV terrible ? Here are a few things;
The layout of the CV - if your CV is poorly arranged or looks shabby, it& #39;s terrible.
If your CV contains irrelevant information like D.O.B, nationality, marital status etc (unless the recruiter asks for those details) - it& #39;s terrible.
If your CV lacks the relevant keywords, such that it can& #39;t get past ATS, Applicant Tracking System - it& #39;s terrible.
(I& #39;ll explain about the ATS later this week).

Take a look at your CV, if it& #39;s terrible, you won& #39;t get invited for the interview!
Here& #39;s another mistake;
3. The entire application mail.

This is another broad part. It& #39;s starts with your very own email address, if it looks unofficial, it puts the recruiter off. Here& #39;s what I mean; does your email look like this;
Prettyfunmi@gmail.com ?
Or roughryderkunle@yahoo.com ? Or something similar ?
That& #39;s terrible. Your email must contain your official name. Something like this;
Adekunlehassan@gmail.com.

Only then can the recruiter take you seriously.
Another part the application mail is the subject of the mail.

It& #39;s sad when I see some job seekers leave this part blank or with unnecessary information.
It& #39;s actually simple, most job adverts will tell you what to use as the subject and most times, it& #39;s the job title.
If you find yourself in a case where the job advert doesn& #39;t state so, just use the job title still!
Don& #39;t leave it blank or with silly stories!

You know what else people leave blank in their application mail ? The body of the email!!!
You should never ever leave the body of the mail empty! Always make sure your write a few words, but not just "any few words", not the usual "please find my CV attached" ewwwwwww! Don& #39;t do so, here& #39;s a free template (I& #39;m nice, I know)https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="😍" title="Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes" aria-label="Emoji: Smiling face with heart-shaped eyes">;
“Dear, (add the name of the firm or the HR) or simply say; Dear HR, my name is Adekunle Hassan, I recently found out that your firm needs (add the required skills from the job advert) to fill up the role of (add the role you& #39;re applying for). I find it pleasing that I fit the...
... perfect description of the person you need. With over (add the number of years of experience you have) in (add the sector e.g marketing), I have (add the skills again), my CV and cover letter attached to this mail explains how I& #39;ve gained those skills and how I& #39;ve performed..
... excellently in similar roles.
I am looking forward to the chance to explain in details, how I hope to help your organization achieve its goals.

Best regards”

Then go on to add your CV and Cover letter! Quite easy right ?!
