If cancel culture was based on actual evidence, it would promote justice and equality. It’s actually based on rumor and accusations, which is the realm of bullies and grifters. When journalists joined in to give cancel culture real credibility, it became a true horror to behold.

This is why the Democratic party is ripping itself apart in a civil war right now. Cancel culture eventually comes for everyone, including those who initially led it. When you throw facts and due process out the window, anything goes. And if everyone cancels everyone, Trump wins.

This is also the danger of hero worship. You can’t lionize whole groups people any more than demonizing other groups. Human beings are both good and bad. There are good and bad journalists. There are good and bad doctors. There are many shades of gray. Mobs are blind to nuance.
