penders was responsible for introducing a lot of characters into the book, mostly echidnas. the dude seriously loves knuckles and really wanted to expand on the echidna tribe to the detriment of, y'know, sonic. so many fucking echidnas.

penders was also in charge of a lot of really weird narrative decisions too which ended up causing sega to crack down on how sonic was allowed to be portrayed in media. like, after sonic got cucked, sega made it a rule that he wasn't allowed to sob anymore.

anyway, one thing led to another and penders ended up being fired from archie. except his contract was lost in a fire so when penders sued archie for the rights to his characters, he ended up winning easily. he ended up suing EA over that sonic rpg too.

now hes trying to reboot his sonic characters in a different universe. the result will give you nightmares.

his art in general is fucking horrifying and if you find something weird related to the archie sonic comics its almost definitely because of his influence. he had some absolutely bizarre ideas for the character and it took a long time for archie to course correct.
