I will talk a little about some mechanics explored in Digimon World Re:Digitize (And Decode)

The thread contains spoilers for Re:Digitize (Although much of the content is on the website as additional information), so if you don't want to know about it, be warned.
It is important to know that not all content explaining Re: Digitize is found in the main story. Much of the game's backstory is hidden in the Keywords, Mail, News Log and item description sections.
Also, some information is accessible in optional dialogues that can happen only at specific moments in the story (but it is not very common) and also some information is better described on the Re: Digitize website and not in the game itself.
Used since the beginning of the game, Digitize (Also referred to as "Digitizing Phenomenon") refers to the process in which material from the Real World is digitized, converted into data and then stored in the DW, the website says this is the "Artificial Digitizing Phenomenon".
On the website it is explained that because even small objects have an overwhelming amount of information, they would not fit in the structure of any existing storage device, for this reason the "Artificial Digitizing Phenomenon" was proposed.
After theorizing that the "Digital World", which is not an artificial storage device, but another world that overlaps our world, existed, the artificial method plans to use the overwhelming storage capacity of the Digital World to store data coming from the Real World.
However, this was only working with old data and the transfer of matter to the Digital World had not yet been successful. The GIGO Company was the most successful in this field with a team of Russian researchers with authority in quantum physics and information engineering.
The opposite, transferring data from the Digital World as material in the Real World, was referred to as "Re: Digitize". However, like Digitize, it is a phenomenon that has not yet been successful, and therefore few believed that it was possible to be used commercially.
The Digital World is said to exist in another dimension than that of which we humans exist in Reality. In fact, the Digital World has an existence that transcends reality and sometimes even erodes Reality. It is a world where all existence is composed of digital data.
It also contains a variety of life forms, although digital, and it is a world that cannot be analyzed by human technology and no one has been able to understand the totality of the Digital World. Still, contact with this dimension represents a change in humans as a species.
A few years ago, a major incident, called "Digital Divide", happened on the computer network around the globe. All systems, including those of large administrative centers, went down, triggering a major crisis.
The cause was a mysterious virus that started to spread on the network. In the midst of this calamity, the mysterious GIGO Company, which was already carrying out mysterious experiments with a more robust system, was the first to recover.
Since then, GIGO Company has spread to the most varied vital branches of society, becoming a company that controls the lives of everyone with enormous economic power, but there are still mysteries about how it reached this level.
Even before the "Digital Divide", GIGO had a team of researchers, mostly Russians, that sought to prove the existence that a Digital World existed parallel to ours. These researches, which no one cared before, were part of the foundation that allowed the GIGO to recover quickly.
Clearly this was a lot of coincidence and rumors started to emerge pointing out that GIGO treated the discovery of the DW in the middle of the crisis as a coincidence, but that GIGO may have caused the crisis to gain power while it was practically unaffected by the crisis
GIGO's plans would lead to the creation of the "Vitium program", but this will be better explained in the next Thread, which will be a sequel to this one.
