Nicole Lozano PhD:

The pandemic exacerbates existing privilege. The End. As "kind" as it is to say "we're all in this together," we really aren't. A much more accurate descriptor is: "white people who make a certain income are in this together." Medical racism has been a problem
in the united states -- the death rate in these communities is not new, and was not difficult to predict. If you keep telling yourself you're in the same boat, you're not going to notice that there are people outside that boat who are legitimately drowning.

The "winners" in
this pandemic are the people who are believed by doctors, and who have the ability to shelter-in-place and stockpile food and medicine.
I want to add that fat people are also being very discriminated against in this. And in a year, when we go back to the data and we say "oh,
fat ppl had a higher mortality rate because they were fat" that wont be exactly true. Fat ppl are havin a higher mortality rate because fatphobia is built into the medical system, just like racism is. To be anything other than straight, cis white & thin in this country is deadly
