I know I sound completely callous when I say this but am I ever f& #39;ng glad to see "normal" people go through the benevolence of the Crown so that they understand how absolutely ridiculous it is.

In all their years of looking down on "welfare kings and queens" did they ever see the inner workings. Despite the Crown rhetoric of helping...they are still approaching it as a benevolence and act of charity. Meaning...deserving of assistance. It is this double edged cut...on
one side, you must make a certain amount to qualify. Poor people can& #39;t pay it back...therefore, not even worth the effort to help. On the other side, you must be flat on your face...meaning no income and stretched paper thin. That is the catch about benevolence and charity that
are often overlooked. They create dependency. They force people into desperation before they even start to work. They are not an act of justice. They are an act saviorism. The savior gets to dictate the form and application of benevolence.

infrastructure is based on the poor houses and Victorian concept of charity. Poverty is the work of laziness and lack of ethic. It isn& #39;t as much as it is a constructed disposable class. To get the help of poor houses...you had to prove you had no other means of income. Currently
to get assistance you cannot have savings, income or assets. Meaning to get that shitty $600/mth, you can not have a thing to your name left. One in there, you will not make enough to lift you out nor own anything to help your future. You hand in your bank statements so they
know if you are bringing in more money which they deduct dollar for dollar if it is more than a certain amount and kick you off if it is more than they assist you.

Harper made those also completely unbearable and full of access barriers as well. Most people didn& #39;t notice because...they didn& #39;t need it. Only poor people or those with precarious employment...but...they weren& #39;t yet considered "normal" people. And those that did have to deal
with those systems had other resources to fall on until they could get caught up again.

not about us...what we need or keeping us from going under. It is about them and their accounting. "We processed over 700 000 claims to date." "We are making sure that Canadians who need it most are getting it." None of that will help unless you meet their threshold of need.
An TBH...to meet that threshold will be the most stressful, painful and aggrevating time of your life.
Remember this once all of this blows threw. Those safety nets were created for times like this. We just let them go when we didn& #39;t think it would ever affect us. Now you know
