The $600 federal increase is now available to eligible individuals. The Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (FPUC) provides eligible claimants with additional compensation to their weekly benefit amount.
Those claimants certifying beginning April 6 will see the additional funds applied to their weekly benefit amount.
This portion of the stimulus is not retroactive to those who certified prior to April 6. Any certifications starting on or after April 6 will see the additional increase applied to their weekly benefit amount. The increase is available through the week ending July 25, 2020.
Individuals may also be eligible for more weeks of unemployment, above the 26 weeks currently provided. Similar to the $600 increase, both benefits will be applied automatically if you qualify.
Because IDES employees are working on processing applications for current benefits, please do not call to inquire about these new federal programs. We will provide more details on these new federal programs and how to apply as soon as the information is finalized.
