My wife got this for me before we had a kid because she knew how important my grandma was to me. Though we never shared music like this guess what? She was big into fusion and disco like Salsoul Orchestra. Great illustrations and replay on this one!
Bc cats duh but also flipping gender roles. Mama cat goes to work as a construction foreman, papa cat stays home with the kittens but also shows up at work for a picnic. Wholesome af
On the flip side, a subtle nod to go dog go on the construction tip. They build a park!
Construction books often run the risk of doing gentrification without touching on it but this one? They build a community center!
Mom makes the kids cookies and as their friends show up they share until everybody gets a cookie. Grandma saves the day at the end with a reup
Sesame Street deep cut. Vague images of this book have lived in my memory for 3 decades. Then by happenstance a librarian ends up uploading a video of her narrating it to YouTube in the last month. That videos gotten a lot of plays over here
Another little free library find. Picked it up because of the mailman. Been a great way to introduce a lot of ideas to the kiddo.
One more for now. A recent addition! Dig the illustrator’s work on Bikes For Sale but the story here is the kind of silliness we can all use rn
I loved this book as a kid as did my wife so it’s wonderful great to be able to share it with our son!
We found out about this one on the back of Gregory then it turned up in a Little Free Library! A tale of being yourself colorfully told with surreal Tim Burton like art
