The Easiest Way to Get New Clients - Guaranteed

This is NOT a covert sales pitch for a class

This is NOT vague advice you can't actually use

This is the EXACT step-by-step process I use to acquire new clients

Let's begin
First, you need to find a niche.

You can get a vertical niche ("I'm a healthcare copywriter")

Or a horizontal niche ("I'm an email copywriter")

Next, you're going to need to find businesses in your niche or who could benefit from your services.
Now what you want to do is create a spreadsheet in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or whatever program you use.

Create columns for:
1) Business Name
2) Business Owner Name
3) Business Owner Email Address
4) Notes
In the Notes section, you're going to be writing down 2-3 ways you can help the businesses you find.

For example: "Needs more regular blog content; could use help with SEO titles; has email subscriber list"

We'll come back to this later
PRO TIP: Find local businesses.

Business owners like to work with local talent.

It makes you seem more trustworthy if they can find you in real life and meet with you in-person to discuss their company and projects.
To find businesses, go to your local chamber of commerce website and run a search in your niche, e.g. "Healthcare providers"

Or, simply Google "Healthcare providers near me"

After you've found businesses, you need to find the business owner names and their email addresses
This can be tricky. Most owners keep their emails hidden.

Start on their website in the About or Our Team sections.

If it's not there, find the company on http://manta.com , http://bbb.org  (in the US), Facebook, and LinkedIn. Search there for contact info.
If this STILL doesn't work, find any email on the company website (usually [email protected] or something)

Next, Google the owner's name and @company.com

Like "John Smith @company.com" (without the quotation marks)

This might work, as it will search for email addresses
Last resort, find anyone's email that works at the company, whether on the website or Googling

Brands always follow a formula for email addresses (usually first initial + last name + @company.com)

Then plug in the owner's name to that formula
Why does getting the owner's email address matter?

Why not just email the "info" email address?

You need to contact a DECISION MAKER. Not someone who is going to play telephone between you and the decision maker.
Next Step:

Compile a list of 50-100 businesses in this manner in your spreadsheet

Now, send 5-10 PERSONALIZED emails to these companies every day

Introduce yourself. Say how you think you can help them (from your spreadsheet's Notes section). Ask to get on a phone call.
PRO TIP: Position yourself as a business owner, not a freelance writer

Entrepreneurs like to work with peers when it comes to handing over their money

"Freelance writer" can bring up 100 bad connotations they have in their mind (unemployed, free spirit, blogger, etc.)
BONUS TIP: Don't tell them the price of your services until the right moment (when you present them with a project proposal).

Prices will OFTEN scare away prospects too early in the sales process.
If you send out 100 emails, you'll probably get about 20 responses and get on 10 phone calls

Once you get a tentative yes, you need to pitch your project

And that's it! After that, the ball is 100% in your court.
