I’ve been watching my neighbor work on his boat outside for the last week. Today it has a mast on so turns out it’s a cutie little sailboat!

I appreciate that he’s never talked to or even looked at me. I hope he made the whole thing. I’m glad he has this time to work on his boat

He’s currently quietly singing & whistling to himself. This dude is great

Update: there’s a sail now!

Update: he’s chatting with another neighbor, he told the neighbor that he grew up sailing rivers with his dad, hasn’t sailed in years and is a little nervous. Seems like his dad isn’t here anymore. This is a wholesome quarantine story

Update: boat guy’s garage is open and he’s out here in a hoodie. I hope he gets to take his boat out in the warmer weather soon

Update: he loaded that trailer up and drove away!!! Our dude is (ostensibly) SAILING TODAY

Update: he’s back and on FaceTime with a woman (sounds like maybe his mom?) talking with her about different local lakes. He said it was a little chilly on the water. Our dude got to sail, and he said it was his first time out, he didn’t tip over, and the boat works.

He’s saying “we” so it sounds like there’s a Mrs. Boat Guy (or perhaps a Mr. Boat Guy!) HES TALKING ABOUT SELLING TURNIPS ON ANIMAL CROSSING NOW

It’s definitely his mom or perhaps auntie or sister. “I did tell grandma about your kombucha.” She’s telling him he should move back, after he was talking about how sick he was of the weather.

An update: boat guy is outside with some wood on some sawhorses. Doesn’t look like boat-related wood so we’ll see what bot guy is up to

Boat Guy just rolled up to his garage. Let’s see what he’s up to today. He’s listening to some fiddle music on his phone.

He’s loading stuff up in the whip. I think he’s sailing today.

Oh yeah. He’s pulling out the boat.

Boat loaded. He’s gone. I hope he sails well today
