1/n - Should we share nr. of tests analyzed/day as well?
RN, in Portugal, #COVIDー19 cases increase is always smaller on Monday than on the remaining days; this has lead to a misconception of the curve evolution every Monday.
2/n
Apparently, this occurs due to the lack of transportation of samples from hospital to laboratories. This will lead to a number of performed tests with similar dimension as the other days but, due to the fact of lack of transportation, they are not analyzed.
3/n
Therefore, the small increase of cases on Mondays is met with optimism and, on Tuesday, when the rate "goes back to normal", the pessimism hits.
In my opinion, informing the number of tests analyzed (absolute) or a ration of analyzed/performed could be informative and
4/n
curb a bit the "Monday enthusiasm" and be an additional information of our testing ability
