went on a run this morning and a man stopped me in the middle of my workout. he broke down & told me he needed ten dollars because he lost his job due to corona, is now homeless, and is currently taking care of his two granddaughters. he needed quarters to wash their clothes
talking to him really brought me to tears man. he hasn’t been able to wash his granddaughters clothes because no one wants to acknowledge his humanity due to the virus. we can empathize but i promise you none of us will ever know what a pain like that feels like.
i see a lot of us talking about how we’re saving money, haven’t lost our job, planning on investing our checks, etc. GIVE BACK. you can afford it & someone needs you. spread love. find someone in need in your area and commit yourself to making sure they are okay and loved
buy masks & gloves not just for you but for others. grocery shop for the elderly. take out cash back when you grocery shop and give it to someone without interviewing them on why they need it. love unconditionally
& don’t let the privilege of your “boredom” block you from the reality many people are facing. this is very real. that’s all i have to say
