Amanda-Goes-Through-Quarantine Thread 🇲🇾⬇️:

I’ll keep you updated on the quarantine process from the airport to the facility. Stay tuned!
Once we got off the plane, we had to board an airport bus to the main building. Had to practice #socialdistancing when lining up and riding the bus too. They removed all the chairs. 😳
Once we got to the main building, they made all of us go through thermal scanning. My friends and I all made it through.
After thermal scanning, you were guided to these stations where you had to fill out a health declaration form and receive a home assessment form.
Above mentioned forms:
- The health declaration form was easy to fill up. Handed back to the staff.
- Other form is a home assessment tool. At the bottom is a table with 14 days. You have fill in the dates and mark whether you have fever, cough or difficulty breathing.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful with the forms (I can vouch cause your girl was struggling with Malay 😂).

After that, you had to go through immigration. The usual autogates are closed (see pic) so you had to do it face-to-face with an officer.
After that, you were given yet another form to fill out. This time it’s a registration form which I’ll assume will be used by the quarantine officers. All the students were instructed to only fill the top section and sign.
Those that filled out the form were then split up into groups of 20 to board the buses later. All groups were sectioned off. Chairs were marked off for us to practice #SocialDistancing while waiting.
While waiting, an officer briefed the guidelines for our quarantine:

-You’re not allows to leave your room
-If you’re caught outside, you will be JAILED FOR 2 YEARS
-No visitations allowed
-If you need things from outside, you can have it sent to the staff to pass to you
Next up was baggage claim. They made us wait in line with #SocialDistancing guidelines. Our luggages were already pulled off the conveyor belt for us which was great. 😬
Then, it was time to board the bus. (Kind of intimidating because they had cops with guns on standby😳) They had a hazmat team (in orange) come and sanitize everyone’s luggages and carry-ons before boarding.
They tried to make us sit apart from each other but there were too many luggages. 😂 They gave us a little bag with snacks and water to keep us occupied for now. Still no clue where they’re bringing us.
And we’re off! They still haven’t said where we’re going so we’re all curious and worried. We’re hoping it’s a hotel.

The roads are super empty which is a foreign sight for me. People are taking the lockdown seriously.

I’ll be back when I find out where we’re going. Stay tuned!
#UPDATE: It looks like we’re all staying at Sunway Pyramid Hotel! We’re still waiting for the first bus to unload. The hotel entrance is filled with police officers and people wearing PPE so I’m assuming we’ll be quarantined here. More photos to come!
They unloaded us from the bus in groups of 3. We were instructed to collect our bags and line up. Here, they made a copy of our passports, took our temperatures and gave us the keys to our room. After we were cleared, we were guided to lifts where we went to our floors alone.
Here’s my room for 14 days! 🤩 – at Sunway Pyramid Hotel
Here are the rules of our quarantine stay. I’m mostly curious about how the meals will be delivered so I’ll keep you posted.

It’s 4am over here in Malaysia so I’ll be signing off for now. See you soon!
#UPDATE: We were all just informed that food deliveries from @GrabMY are prohibited starting 2 p.m today, except for 3-in-1 drinks and biscuits/crackers.
Some health officials dropped by for an initial screening. They took my temperature, flight details and contact info. They told me that they had screened about 500 students already and my flight was the last batch of students. I thanked them both for what they did. #HealthHeroes
Here’s how food is delivered to you in #quarantine:

Food is sent at the specified times (7am, 12:30pm, 6:30pm). The food is tied in a plastic bag and hung on each door. The door is then knocked or rung to alert the occupant.
Note: The delivery method might vary based on your hotel/facility! I’ve heard of other places where they will prepare a chair/table outside the door for food to be put on.
If anyone is curious, here are my meals from #Day1 of #Quarantine! They’re all served with an apple and a bottle of water. The disposable cutlery is also sealed for cleanliness.
I just got this outside my door! 🥰 I always got hungry between meals because the portions were small so this package came at a great time! Super grateful that the officials are taking care of us. 💖 #QuarantineLife
#Day2 of food in #Quarantine!:
One of the hidden struggles of dealing with work/classes in a US university while in Malaysia is working around the time difference. Currently editing a video for the @UCentralMedia web show at 3am😅. Super exhausted but I can’t wait for you all to see this! #WorkFromQuarantine
#Day3 of food in #quarantine. Definitely my favorite day so far because of the #nasilemak but I’m missing the apples 😭:
#Day4 of food in #Quarantine. We got an apple! And red velvet cake!!!
#Day5 of food in #quarantine! The highlight of my day was trying to eat my breakfast bun with butter using a spoon 😂 (Had to stab it open with the spoon handle and then use the back of the spoon to spread the butter. I felt like a monster.)
And we got a package! They dropped off some toiletries and simple stuff to wash our clothes. Super grateful! #day5 #QuarantineLife
Almost forgot with my #Day6 #quarantine food update!
#Day7 of food in #quarantine! Week 1 is almost done!
They dropped off this “Happy Kit” booklet with dinner on #day7. They also made us use the link to fill out a form that assesses our mental health. I appreciate that they’re trying to take care of us both physically and mentally! 🥰
Hello! I ended up not updating with food updates for #Week2 of #quarantine because most of the meals were the same as Week 1!
But, I wanted to post my food from #Day13 of #quarantine! These will probably be the last meals I’ll have in this hotel room because I’m going home tomorrow! ❤️
LAST DAY! They gave us breakfast for #Day14 of #quarantine 🥰 My batch is scheduled to be released at 8 a.m. and I’m so excited!
It’s 10:10 a.m. and I’m still waiting to be released. Some officials just came by to inspect the room to make sure nothing was stolen or broken. Hopefully I’ll be out soon!
11:26 a.m.: I got clearance to leave! Had to take a mandatory lift mirror selfie.
We had to go through a clearance process before leaving. We had to give our room cards, an indemnity form and quarantine release form that we were required to fill out earlier in the week.
And I’m out! I’m officially a graduate of the Quarantine Class of 2020 😂🥳
Now that I’m out of quarantine, this thread is finished too! Thank you for following me on my journey. ❤️
