I know remote learning isn't easy to plan and teachers have been put in impossible situations trying to transition kids with lesson plans that don't translate to at-home work. I empathize with them, however: expecting kids to perform at 100% right now is fucking bullshit.
My 4th grader is crying from stress about her workload, juggling multiple poorly organized Google classrooms and a handful of sketchy ad-driven third-party learning platforms plus occasional ad-hoc email assignments.
So while I empathize with the teachers I feel like they should back the fuck off until they've learned more about coordinating remote efforts. As someone who's lead fully remote teams it's glaringly obvious that the teachers are outmatched.
I'm sorry I won't sacrifice my kids' emotional and mental wellbeing right now for the sake of keeping up with state educational standards in exceptional times. So frustrated with this situation and the toll it's taking on kids, their educations, and parents' schedules.
I haven't seen any news at all about state governors relaxing or even suspending educational requirements right now and genuinely: what the everliving fuck?!
