I am all for scrutinizing politicians& #39; finances but the "Trump is recommending hydroxychloroquine because he has a stake in Sanofi" take is a stretch. It& #39;s more likely he sees a miracle pill as an easy out that would reopen the economy and let him claim credit for being right.
Also: a) HCQ is a very cheap generic made by a bunch of different pharma companies, and b) Trump& #39;s Sanofi stake (via a mutual fund) is very small. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/trumps-personal-stake-in-the-malaria-drug-maker-sanofi-could-be-as-small-as-99-2020-04-07">https://www.marketwatch.com/story/tru...
It& #39;s good to note conflicts wherever they exist! But as this great tick-tock explains, Trump& #39;s HCQ fever has a lot to do with who he& #39;s listening to (Rudy Giuliani, Larry Ellison, Laura Ingraham, Drs. Oz and Zelenko) and who he& #39;s not (Dr. Fauci). https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/06/us/politics/coronavirus-trump-malaria-drug.html">https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/0...
