The combo of ADHD and what is apparently 'Autistic Inertia' is like trying to watch a TV show and some asshole keeps grabbing the remote and flipping to random channels, except that *you're also the asshole with the remote* and just won't listen when you tell yourself to stop.
In general ADHD can be a lot like being low-key possessed by a demon who's phoning it in. Instead of being trapped in your own body while it commits atrocities, you're stuck screaming internally, watching yourself open the hundred-and-seventh TVTropes tab instead of your essay.
The Extra Bonus Fun layer of all this is that we (or I, at least) tend to get interested in whatever we just flipped to, so it isn't being disrupted once, it's being fixated by each new thing and then having it yanked away again the minute it starts getting good.
