my grandma died today

and as I went to unblock my mother’s number to call her, 6 y/o said “don’t you dare call her”

and then my sister called me to make sure I didn’t call

and I’m just sad that things have to be this way

truly grateful to be so, so supported by community, consistently, and so surrounded by love. i really did not expect so many people to reach out with similar experiences of grief + estrangement, and so much kindness.
