Today is Primary Day in Wisconsin. Of the usual ~180 polling locations in Milwaukee, there are only about 5 today. #WisconsinPrimary (follow my journey to vote)

My polling location is an hour walk away. I could not find a bus that goes there. I don’t drive. So I’m walking #WisconsinPrimary

I have packed snacks, a book, water, an umbrella (it’s suppose to start raining at 3pm), hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and a scarf as a makeshift mask #WisconsinPrimary

There is way too much construction happening on Milwaukee sidewalks which is making a pretty straightforward walk much for windy #WisconsinPrimary but I’m 30mins in and halfway to my polling location.

In hindsight....I wonder if there were rides to polls organized for today #WisconsinPrimary a girl sure could’ve used a ride lol

I registered at the County Clerk’s office but they don’t have me in their system. After much back and forth and arguing. I’m RE-REGISTERING to vote. #WisconsinPrimary

At first they tried to turn me away because I didn’t have a WI id. Thank god I had my passport card with me or I wouldn’t have been able to vote. #WisconsinPrimary

WooHoo I’ve voted, after much ado about nothing #WisconsinPrimary but really, can we train pool workers to know that I can use another form of id that is NOT a WI drivers ID?! If I was not adamant about that I would not have been able to vote today.

The unflattering face of a WI voter #WisconsinPrimary I hope more folks turn out and vote today, although they have not made it an easy task.

Although my polling location did not have much of a line, friends have seen lines that wrap the block at ~8am this morning #WisconsinPrimary
