It's worth stressing that this is *why we have IGs.*

They alert us not just to wrongdoing, but also to governing failures, so we can *fix them.*

But Trump simply refuses to admit error. And as @NoahBookbinder points out, in this case lives are at stake:

Much of what these hospitals are reporting about equipment shortages is Trump's fault.

As NYT reports, the supply chains are beset by "confusion bordering on disarray."

And @GovPritzker bluntly says states must now "bid against each other."
