Your anger being real or your criticism valid, does not justify shouting it at someone fighting for his life. It’s very easy to be decent to people we like. But if the charge against our foe is lack of compassion, we must demonstrate compassion in when and how we lay that charge.
This
getting weird amount of criticism. I asked nobody to applaud Johnson. All I said was: reserve your punches for when the opponent is standing. Because it’s decent. Decency, compassion, grace are internal qualities. It’s not about being kinder TO HIM. It’s about BEING KINDER.

For some years, I seem to be having permutations of this conversation again and again (including with myself): Is your aim to enjoy your rage or to effect change? Because the two may occasionally be incompatible.
Often, I find people (again, including me) just enjoy being angry.

I’m NOT asking for silence. I’m saying it’s more decent AND productive to focus scrutiny on those *currently* making day-to-day decisions rather than scream abuse at an ICU bed. It’ll get you nothing and may put off people who agree with substance but find the method distasteful.
But, you know, IF-YOU’RE-NOT-100%-BEHIND-ME-YOU-HAVE-THE-BLOOD-OF-PUPPIES-ON-YOUR-HANDS is just as nuanced a position.
