I know everyone is focused on other more important things, but I want to share some personal happy news. Over the weekend, I submitted the final manuscript and all images for my next book, Better Data Visualizations. /THREAD
This project has been a couple of years in the making and I’m relieved to get to the next, final stage. The manuscript has more than 70k words and 500 images. I want to thank various people and orgs for their help and for granting me permission to include their work in this book.
There are lots of images in the public domain, but it's good to know there's good work I can use and rely on: @USCBO, @cspan, @OECD, @CDCgov, @USDA, and @BEA_News among others.
Then there are the various news organizations that let me use their work either for free or for a reduced price. I'm especially thankful to @TexasTribune, @NPR, @latimes, @morgenpost, @GuardianVisuals, @HindustanTimes, @AxiosVisuals, @ECONdailycharts, @FT....
And then, of course, are the many, many individuals who helped me with code and creation, as well as those who gave me permission to use their work. On creation, I'm grateful to @BFongData, @awunderground, @Ajjit10, @sarah_strochak, and @PeltierTech.
On reviews and other feedback, I'm thankful that the following folks lent a hand: @AlbertoCairo, @nigelblue, @Biff_Bruise, @jburnmurdoch, @infowetrust, @eagereyes, @dataviz_catalog, @sharoz, @JessicaHullman, @chadskelton.
I'm especially grateful to @kennethfield for helping me with all the maps (and the feature creep). And especially to @hiramhenriquez for getting so many images and graphs ready for print.
And then there are the individuals who gave me permission to use their work: @NadiehBremer, @theneilrichards, @szucsi, @aaronkoblin, @jwoLondon, @ChristiansenJen, @lenkiefer, @adamemccann, @jasondavies, @ben_fry, @NadiehBremer, @moritz_stefaner, @Periscopic....
And, of course, my publisher, @ColumbiaUP.

There are others I have missed as well. Thank you all! Can't wait for this thing to come out later this year!
