Attention freelance film/TV journalists & freelancers:

We want to commission you. If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, contact us at [email protected] and drop us some pitches with a couple of writing samples. Please see the thread for more info:
1) We pay £20 per article for the time being, and those payments will be sent through PayPal. It’s not much, but we believe in compensating writers.
2) We’ll be launching in June. If you’re looking to pitch topical ideas, then articles about movies, shows or events that will be relevant then or afterward are preferred.
3) That being said, right now we are just looking for some great articles that are interesting and unique. What’s in your brain that isn’t in anyone else’s? What are you passionate about? Let us know.
4) We aren’t looking for ongoing columns, but we might consider a limited series of articles pertaining to a specific subject if the idea is great.
5) Don’t pitch any negative clickbait. We aren’t interested in publishing hit pieces or Worst of lists. We are, however, open to legitimate criticism that’s thoughtful and aims to start a conversation/make the world a better place.
6) We will try to respond to everyone. Please also don’t be discouraged from pitching in future if your idea isn’t accepted this time around. Our budget is very limited and we can’t realistically commission everyone.
7) It doesn’t matter if you’re an inexperienced writer or just starting out. We want to hear from you. We also want to hear from a diverse range of voices, so get in touch.
