Putting aside the question of whether or not Joe Rogan is Very Problematic, it does seem a dubious assertion that a podcaster and mixed martial artist with a net worth of around $25 million is somehow representative of a broad swatch of independent voters. https://twitter.com/jenfl23/status/1246562342512574464
I will concede I’m not overly familiar with the finer points of Joe Rogan’s ideology, but having listened to his podcast a few times I’ve drawn the inference that his political views are mostly drawn from philosophy, not personal need.

Very much the reverse for most voters.
And it’s surprising to see Sanders supporters embrace Rogan wholeheartedly and cast him as this every-man populist independent considering they’ve railed against trotting out celebrities and elites and high net worth individuals as representative of anything except vanity.
And I agree with them on that! The problems of the rich are typically not the problems of the poor. That was a good point!

Not sure why they’re being so philosophically inconsistent on this point.
And sure, you can have influencers and thought leaders with views that are in line with the base rank-and-file.

But I don’t think the data would support the assertion that Rogan speaks for the millions of independent voters who will decide 2020.
