I have always been a fan of local business, likewise I'm a strong supporter of Irish charities. There are lots of great examples of the two working hand in hand however I don't see the @rewardtheheroes by @GoodFoodIreland as an example of this.
I have a number of significant reservations about the initiative:

1/ it's using a very similar name and tags to campaigns already up and running which causes confusion.

2/ They've set up a GoFundMe page implying it's a charitable not a commercial initiative.
3/ It seems to be primarily about generating cashflow for businesses with no actual matching charitable or donations element I can see other than vouchers based on money "donated" via GoFundMe.

4/ A finite amount is donated to charity nationally, this is eating into that pie.
I believe this initiative was good meaning and I'm a fan in general of @GoodFoodIreland but think this needs a rethink. Support Irish businesses by buying vouchers - yes, support charities as well especially supporting frontline, but this particular mix seems flawed.
