So to recap the last three weeks: As this virus was getting worse, schools stayed open longer than they should. There was a weird sense of impending doom that we couldn& #39;t escape, but we still had to teach and be in crowded classrooms. Then @NYCMayor finally called it. 1/
With 3 days notice we completely reworked our curriculum with almost no guidance from @NYCSchools. At the same time I started to have COVID-19 symptoms. But I kept working because it wasn& #39;t clear if my days would be excused, and I needed to get a curriculum going. 2/
I then worked for two whole weeks with COVID symptoms. I had a very mild case, but every night I had terrible chills and a fever. Still showed up for online classes because I didn& #39;t know what else to do. Around the same time my fiance was furloughed. 3/
As I& #39;m dealing with all of this, the @iborganization decides to cancel exams and make me provide comments on all my internals, increasing my workload by at least 5x. At the same time they rolled back the extension they had given us. 5x the work in half the time. 4/
But hey, break was coming up, so that would be ok. Except then @NYCMayor cancelled 60% of spring break. I& #39;d at least enjoy the long weekend. Oh, just kidding, that& #39;s gone too. 5/
And then on Sunday, we find out one of our English teachers died. We went straight to the @NYCSchools legal department, who then dragged their feet until 2pm yesterday. Meanwhile students are emailing us asking if it& #39;s true and we can& #39;t respond at all. 6/
