TW: sexual assault

I feel like the shit people forgot about Jason's run as robin is that everything happened to him when he was 15> years old. And that he was truly witnessing horrid shit. Like a woman killing herself after the man who sexually assaulted her,
And that's just shit he was exposed to because he was robin. He ended up seeing terrible shit and as a result it started to get to him emotionally. And that's what I find relatable. You see bad shit happening and it fucks you up
When he and Bruce start falling out bc he's not coping with the shit he's seeing in a healthy way. And starts getting angry he's upset from the corruption in the city, and that Bruce thinks he killed the rapist who, sexually assaulted the woman who killed herself. He thinks
Bruce doesn't trust him and thinks he killed the guy, but that's up in the air on whether he actually did it. He starts feeling like his adoptive father sees him as a mistake. And starts looking for validation elsewhere. Finds out that his mom might be alive and got tricked by
A woman who may or may not be his biological mother, gets turned over to the joker cause this was a wholesale scam tries to protect the woman who tricked him. Gets beaten with a crow bar, and blown up. Everyone is always like comics need to be "Realistic" and show
The emotional turmoil of the characters, and the experiences that they have, but Jason did that and everyone was like robin sucks!!!!!!

My theory is that people wanted comics to be edgier and Robin isn't despite any writing can never be edgy tm bc the costume offsets it
People will see a robin in costume and be like they're silly and ignore how they're written. But a man in a Bat costume isn't silly at all. Wack.

2. Jason got left holding the bag.
People were going to refuse Jason even if they liked Robin bc he wasn't dick grayson.
And the people who thought great we got rid of Robin, Batman only stories now :) got another robin. Who was different from.the robin they're used too.

3. Classism he's a poor and came from a fucked up neighborhood it was the 80s and classism was in vogue. And some people
Refuse to sympathize with poors, regardless of their backstory.
