CDC: “Ideally, testing for COVID–19 should be conducted, but it is acceptable to report COVID–19 on a death certificate without this confirmation if the circumstances are compelling within a reasonable degree of certainty.” Even if decedent is unhealthy with underlying issues.
CDCs count of official COVID-19 deaths is 1,889—far less than figure posted at sites such as NYT. Why? CDC: Lag is due to “time the death occurred and when the death certificate is completed, submitted to [CDC] and processed for reporting purposes. This delay can range from...
one to eight weeks.” So basically the federal government is telling state health officials to rig COVID-19 fatalities—even when no test confirmed presence of the virus—to boost the death toll.
