1/ A brief thread about these daily White House COVID Lie-athons, and why it's up to us - the viewers! - to stop them.... https://twitter.com/MarcACaputo/status/1247484268370112513
2/ Imagine there's a burger joint nearby, doing drive-thru, but they've stopped buying meat patties. Instead, the manager saves his family's fecal matter and serves the customers ... scatburgers.
3/ Every day, people line up in the drive-thru to buy scatburgers. And eat them. And complain about them. "Stop serving us scatburgers! We want real burgers!"

But the next day, those same people are back in the drive-thru, to buy the scatburgers, and eat them, and complain.
4/ Given the obvious business success of scatburgers ... WHY WOULD THAT MANAGER GO BACK TO BUYING MEAT PATTIES?

Yes, people complain ... every day. But they still line up to buy, and eat ... scatburgers.
5/ The daily White House COVID Lie-athons are scatburgers. They're cheap, easy content for cable news channels. And if you tune in ... you're buying a scatburger and eating it.

Your complaints mean nothing ... so long as you keep buying and eating scatburgers every day.
6/ If you want your cable newsburger joint to stop serving scatburgers ...

... stop buying and eating the scatburgers.

That is to say, CHANGE THE CHANNEL.
7/ News networks get almost real-time viewer data from cable and streaming services. They *know* what people watch. And people are watching the daily Lie-athons.

Our complaints don't matter. Our actions do.

They won't stop airing the daily Lie-athons until we stop watching.
8/ So, news viewers:

You can keep buying and eating scatburgers ... and keep complaining.

Or you can stop buying and eating scatburgers ... and force cable news execs to find better content.

That choice isn't up to them. It's up to you.
