One of my favourite books on academic writing is @jolijensen & #39;s "Write No Matter What" http://www.raulpacheco.org/2018/03/write-no-matter-what-advice-for-academics-joli-jensen-my-reading-notes/">https://www.raulpacheco.org/2018/03/w... it& #39;s a chill, "do what you can with what you have" approach to writing.

I have corresponded with Joli several times, most recently sharing what MY own approach to her
I hate procrastination, but when I do procrastinate about a paper or a chapter or an article, I do not open it.

Out of sight, out of mind.

That& #39;s partly how we convince ourselves that there& #39;s something else that requires our attention. We don& #39;t SEE IT.

This approach, ...
... opening the document and SEEING it, reading it on a regular basis, helps ME get back into the groove of writing. I may not be able to finish the piece I am working on in one sitting, but at least, I have it on my screen and I can at least mentally plan how to add to it.
Which reminds me of @20px& #39;s "Field Guide to Procrastinators".

I am the Panicker, ALWAYS.

That& #39;s why I prefer the Chill Approach to Writing. I& #39;ll do what I can with what I have wherever I am.
