Early Islamic history is so shady: Umar didn't allow Muhammad to write his final Wasiyah which Muhammad said that people won't be misguided after it, Muhammad suspected that Aisha and Hafsa wanted to poison him and only trusted his uncle Abbas in the end, so many Muslims-

right after Muhammad's death behaved like doomsday cultists and many didn't want him buried because they believed he would be brought back to life again to the point of his corpse starting to rot in hot Hejazi climate.

All of these occurrences are confirmed by Ahadeeth Sahiha

so many Muslims believed that Muhammad would come back and Qiyamah was very imminent that weeks after his death, they started apostatizing and refusing to pay Zakat which ignited Hurub al Riddah
