Some are suggesting that Piers is shifting his rhetoric here. I don’t think he is at all.
He’s talking abt immigrants who come from all over the world to keep the NHS running.. ie to serve ‘us’.

Nor any appreciation of what our role as a nation was/is in their movement.. nor of their needs or those of their families. These are ‘good immigrants’ so we appreciate them for what they do for ‘us’.

Piers’s surprise and incredulity at discovering that all his employee’s friends worked at the NHS is also very telling of how out of touch he is. Good luck to him if he’s making some realisations in this crisis, but he’s far from having arrived just yet.
